Mocean365 Crew Gears for 2012 Spartan Beast in Killington VT
This year we have added some more people to the crew and would love to see more come aboard. This is a very doable challenge as it is in September of 2012 giving you plenty of time to train.
We also will be offering Mocean365 Spartan Race training ongoing and will be organizing day trips here and there in between the current members offering people the chance to train with each other and of course hang out and bond with a great crew.
Also we collectively will be guiding each other with nutrition and health info, recipes and other avenues to keep the stoke high. Many of the current crew is based in the northeast kingdom of Vt where Mocean365 offers most of our classes and movement curriculum but we will be adding members from beyond. The best way to get involved if you are unsure? grab a friend and come aboard and then make new friends.
Some on the team will be doing it with other members, meaning running the race at the same pace while others will be trying to push themselves to new levels at their own pace so there should be an option for everyone. We are also encouraging other people to try out a Spartan Sprint which is a much shorter version(5k) that is a good beta test to gauge your fitness level for the Spartan Beast.
Most of the current crew is training with Mocean365 either within a class, one on one or small group or, all of the above. We are selectively adding new people to train who are ready for new challenges but need some guidance along the way. Contact Mocean365 at mocean365@gmail.com to learn more about rates and services. keep in mind, we can also work with people remotely, designing programs and offering guidance and tips to keep you on track and we offer comprehensive package that include movement instruction and full nutrition counseling and guidance provided by our partners at Rootswise. As always we offer sliding scale payment options so we will work with people regardless of their financial situation. The only thing we require is commitment and a desire to push yourself to new levels!
Check the video below to see more of what to expect. now get off your ass, your couch or whatever and JUST DO IT!

Getting Out and About
Meg just made her Daily Practice blog over at Rootswise about getting outside. Its surprising that it even has to be issued as a challenge but given today's world its unfortunately more rare than you think. We weren't allowed in the house when we were kids but now seems many parents are focused on protecting their kids from any sort of positive interaction with the many elements of nature and natural playgrounds.
Well we snapped a few pics today during our fun movement session up here in VT. nothing earth shattering, just two friends playing together using whatever terrain you can find. And that's the lesson here..keep it simple.
Get out and play, move and groove and HAVE FUN!

Mocean365 and The Confluence
We are stoked to be working with the non-profit movement organization called The Confluence. Great people with some complimentary visions to my own and we are going to unveil some big stuff real soon.
I began leading some outdoor classes for them this week on the Statehouse Lawn as well as a private workplace session up at National Life. Check out a free class if you are ever in the area and want to move that body for a half an hour. I will also be leading a Crossfit session on Wednesdays at 2 pm if you want to really get that body shakin!

Youth Fitness
With our nations childhood obesity rate nearing one of five kids, the time is now to forge our next generation of shredders and get them off the Playstations and get them LIVING!
When we grew up we weren't allowed in the house until dinner! We worked alongside our parents and moved our bodies each and everyday. Our play consisted of climbing trees, riding bikes, running around in the woods, wrestling and causing mayhem in other ways.
Kids nowadays don't have that luxury and its often not their fault. They just need some guidance and last year alone, over one million kids hired personal trainers(or their parents did) so there is some glimmering hope that they will rise to the challenge and take care of their bodies and minds!
I'm right here to help and just enrolled in the IYCA "Youth Fitness Specialist" program. This certification will help me understand the youth demographic and better prepare me to help them. The IYCA is the only organization of it's kind and has been recognized as THE go to Youth Fitness experts.
Next season I will continue my work with kids and spread the message of daily movement and fun to them and maybe develop a legion of Mocean365 rippers looking to kick obesity straight in the nuts!
Peace

Ripped on the Charles with Mocean365

The "Ripped on the Charles with Mocean365" is finishing up our first sucessful 8 week session next week and its been an amazing time with a killer crew. Overlooking the beautiful Charles River, the workouts have included the usual Mocean365 blend of dynamic warm-ups, balance and proprioceptive drills, strength and conditioning interspersed with cardiovascular challenges. Aside from all those fancy terms, we had a lot of fun MOVING. outside, fresh air(sorta) and with a fun group. Here's are a few shots from last weeks class. Big props and thanks to all the crew that made it happen especially Will and Chris B and everyone else that came week in and week out to...."Get Ripped on the Charles!
