East Coast

Time and time again i find myself deep into an adventure wondering how to bottle the moment. Part of me wants to bring back the feeling i riding the last chair of the day at the mountain with NO ONE anywhere to be seen. Strapping up and beginning my ride down in two feet of fresh powder as the sun has slipped back into it's cave as the cold wind takes it place. Gathering speed and heading for one of the spots in the woods i usually head to discreetly so as not to give away its location...i realize the mountain is mine. Open up the speed and seek Zen as i flow between the trees, kicking flumes of fresh dry snow behind me .
Part of me wants to explain the feeling of surfing in solitude in solid overhead waves in Maine over a bed of rock. Wants to tell what it's like to talk to a seal like they are a dog.."whats up buddy?" right before turning to stroke into a solid wave that is so good that is makes me look good. As i kick out after the ride i glance shoreward to see if anyone saw me. There is no one there and as i paddle back up the point, it truly feels like there is no one else..anywhere! And just to think that sometimes getting lost is the only way to FIND some spots.
Often a friend or two will be along for some adventure and i let them in on a secret spot where we can share waves or powder and they can't believe how GOOD it was.
The media so often makes generalizations for one. Things like the east coast not having the right conditions and granted we do face adversity but...sometimes it just takes driving another half hour or looking for spots away from the norm to get the true beauty of the East Coast. They also seem to decide where the spots are that everyone should hit are and my selfish side thanks them for that..send them to one spot and more for me right??
But still am torn with sharing and will continue to do so here and there with a select few. We all know the beauty of this side of the country is far deeper than many know.
Buy a map and go get lost...never know what you might find! away from the tracks, the crowds, and media hype is a paradise just waiting to be explored, appreciated and respected and preserved for the next generation of adventurists.

Mocean365 to shoot at Mt Snow Video Park

Fresh back from some of the best snow conditions ever in northern VT, the crew from Mocean365 will head down to Mt Snow to film and photo some hot action at the Mt Snow Video Park.
The Event is the brainchild of good friend Kev Corchoran who started up the original video park at Crotched Mtn two years ago, that i was lucky enough to shoot video at. check my shots...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hj5HVgKIoPk

Mt Snow has a new dedicated park area that is insane and will be closed to the public so we can film without crowds! check this out...http://www.mountsnow.com/parksandpipes.html

So stay tuned for some footage and stories about all the action!

A little backcountry

Stompy and Danno and I got together for a couple days of "earning our turns" and trying to hone our chops with our little band.."sausage wallet". First day was -10 with windchill but perfect for hiking and bluebird conditions. Great snow and some fun lines through the trees.
check out a few quick shots.

Mocean365 Action Workouts Updates

We are up and running on Mondays at a private spot then Wednesdays and Fridays at 6pm at the Heart Space Yoga and Movement Center in St Johnsbury Vermont. The Movement center is right above Kingdom Outdoors and Indigenous Board Shop on 452 Railroad Street. So come to workout, buy some good gear and sign up for some Yoga too!
We do workouts that condition your body and work them through a full range of motion. I employ hurdles, medicine balls, Indo Board balance boards and lots of balance and stability work. Dynamic flexibility is stressed as is postural alignment but don't stress...we have lot's of fun as we are pushing ourselves.
It is my goal within each session to try and spend some one on one time with people as everyone is different and have different objectives, goals and limitations.
I could tell you about them till blue in the face but rather just SEE YOU THERE!
$12 per workout and they last about an hour and a half. bring water and an after workout snack while you wear comfortable(to you) clothing. Wear jeans if that's what you want but come ready to work hard, be challenged and work your body the way it was designed!

Mocean365 Softgoods arrive Mid February!

We got some badd azz softies coming soon. Zip hoodies, Organic pullover hoodies, performance tees that wick sweat and work great for base layer for snow sports etc, and the silkiest shirt's you ever felt..BAMBOO TEE"S! bamboo is the sweetest material for clothing as it wicks sweat naturally without retaining odor and the shirts are so soft people will be touching you ALL THE TIME..can you handle it? they are made by Onno clothing who is another killer company.
All the printing on the shirts is done with Non-PVC inks and they are being printed by a sick environmentally friendly design/print shop based out of Burlington Vt(Local baby!) called Catalyst Design.
These guys are incredible to work with and offer everything from screen printing to graphic design, website services of all kinds and do it all with a FIRM commitment to protecting the earth that we are all so lucky to be able to roam in.
They also have a super fresh clothing line called Brand New Clothing that has a great look and is making the east coast look damn good!
Mocean365 will do whatever we can to ensure that future generations will be able to get out and tear it up outside whether it's the ocean, mountains, rivers and lakes.
Big ups to Catalyst Design and we hope any of the Mocean365 Tribe wouldn't hesitate to work with them for your design needs.
